Which one do you want?

Most people need one or the other, not both. The deciding factor is usually Outlook and calendars.

Standard Email is enough if

You want mailboxes at your own domain, read in a browser or on your phone, and nothing more complicated than that. It is free with every hosting plan, gives you unlimited accounts, and is administered through the MailCentral control panel. For a small business whose email is correspondence rather than infrastructure, this is the whole answer.

Microsoft 365 is worth it if

Your team lives in Outlook, shares calendars, or needs Teams and SharePoint. This is genuine Microsoft licensing with Exchange Online — not a rebranded mail server — and mailbox migration is handled for you at setup. Business Premium adds Defender, Intune and Conditional Access if you have device management or compliance obligations. Billing and problems both come through us, so there is one number to call rather than two.

Deliverability, and the mistake to avoid

Whichever you choose, we configure SPF, DKIM and DMARC as part of setting up your mail. There is nothing for you to add — these are the records that tell the rest of the world your mail is genuinely yours, and missing them is the usual reason a small business finds its invoices in customers' junk folders.

One thing worth saying plainly: do not add a second SPF record. A domain may only have one, and adding another breaks authentication for all of your mail rather than improving it. It is the most common self-inflicted email fault we see. If your messages are still going to junk, send us the full message headers and we will look at your sending reputation.

Moving mailboxes from another provider is included — everything is copied across. How long it takes depends on how much mail there is, so tell us roughly how many mailboxes and how much data and we will give you a realistic window. More answers are on the FAQ page.
